I want to do a cake with little white royal icing dots that look like pearls on white fondant. How can I make just the dot part sparkly or pearl-like?

Handpainting each afterward with lustre dust mixed with vodka sounds really time consuming, and very diddly, but could be done.

What would happen if I added pearl dust or lustre dust to the RI before piping? Would that work?

No, mixing dusts into icing does not work.
Handpainting is about the only way. Unless......you make fondant pearl balls and shake them in a bottle of sparkle dust then hand place each pearl.

That's what I was afraid of! icon_wink.gif I wish I had a steadier hand.

Thanks for your quick response, kakeladi.
