I would like to make the thomas the train 3d ckae covered in fondant for my sons birthday. I have watched the tutorial. I was wondering if any of you out there who may have done it had any further instructions???
Sorry I can't help you, but I was wondering what tutorial you watched? I want to make this cake too and I don't even know where to start. Thanks.
Here is the tutorial I used when I made my Thomas.
This is the same tutorial I used for my first thomas cake. I used Debbie Browns tutorial for my second thomas cake. And this tutorial is much easier to understand, and it makes a bigger cake.
Sorry Debbie, I still love ya.
Tammy great tutorial !!! I have only used the Thomas cake pan and made the face from fondant. I cut the cake in half and fill with buttercream, ice the whole thing and if more cake is needed put on top of another cake. I am going to try your tutorial next time.
Thanks for starting this thread, I logged on to look for ideas on a Thomas cake I am doing soon. The tutorial link is a really good one, but anyone know where I can find Debbie Browns that was mentioned so I can compare the two?
I believe the tutorial you are looking for is in one of Debbie's books.
Here is a link for it:
Thanks for the link Tammy! I don't know if I will buy the book or not, but it looks like it would have a lot of great ideas.
I have Debbie's book and recently scanned the Thomas istructions to send to a few people on CC. Please PM me with your email address if you would like me to forward you the mail.
