Hi Johnydriscoll,

Good for you for planning ahead and working on your goals!

In my area, unless you're 18 years old, you're not allowed to operate any machinery in a kitchen. My son started working with me (when I worked in a high-end chocolatier kitchen) as a janitor to get his foot in the door when he was 15. Gradually he got to do some packaging and some light kitchen tasks as time went on. Since then, he's changed to waiting tables and makes a LOT more money.

You might want to check your area regarding the child labor laws and see what jobs you'd be allowed to do or not do in the kitchen situation you hope to be in.

HTH,
Deanna
