Wrestling Belt Cake ... How Do I Make This Work?

A friend of mine wants a cake for her brother, who happens to wrestle. Initially we threw around the idea of a square cake with gumpaste wrestlers on it, like a ring. However, she is more and more inclined to asking for a wrestlin-belt-shaped cake of late. I would likely do a round cake for the center, and carve a sheet cake for the sides of the belt. But I'm having some trouble designing the actual emblem. It seems that everything is so laden in gold and elaborate eagles and globes, but I'm wanting to come up with an idea of something a little more simple or linear that will translate well into a cake. Of course I can dust it down with luster dust at the end, but any ideas for how I can capture that wrestling belt flash, while still making it look appealing on a cake? I always get such GREAT suggestions here!
