My DH sent me this link. I am a bit curious as to how much of these are really cake and how much is just sugar art. I personally think the majority of it is really ugly, but that's my opinion.

Holy smokes......those are incredible.....a few ugly ones and some seem to defy gravity.

Wow.... some cakes were 'ok......'; others had me asking, 'how'd they do that?' and most of them were so huge I wondered how many people were at the wedding / parties to eat the cakes!!

It takes something away from a beautiful design when it is so big an ostentatious.

I think they are amazing and in a league of their own really. Expect that they would bake those things in a huge commercial hotel kitchen in order to avoid having to start baking 6 months in advance icon_smile.gif Assuming it's all cake and no dummies...

Either way, you have to hand it to the guy.

yeah i have seen this guys stuff beforere amazing ones than those on the link!! he is the personal pastry chef of the kuwait royal family (which is massive) and those are all all for the royal weddings each outdoing the next!! i have seen a few that would be two people high!!!
