I have a cake frosted with smbc and I am using some fondant accents, including a fondant pearl border. Can I put them on now and refrigerate the cake over night. I am not sure what will happen to the decorations? And I would hate to have to get up early in the morning to put everything together!!
I have a cake in the fridge right now that has fondant pearls all over it, it will be fine to refrigerate yours. The only time I had anything droop wasn't from the fridge, it was when I had a cake with gumpaste flowers in an airtight container, and the moisture from the icing recirculated into the gumpaste and made them turn to mush. I've never had that happen in the fridge.
