I am making a cake this saturday for my mom for her birthday. She is turning 50 and has no clue what my sister's and I are scamming up. I know I want to do a 2 tier but I am at a loss for what I should put on it. I want something pretty but also something that goes with the theme of getting older. I was thinking black roses but not sure. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks
Here are a few pics of cakes I found pretty and elegant. You could give them a tweak! Hope it helps!! Good Luck!!

I am sure she will love anything you make for her!! Mom's tend to be that way.
I did a "50th" cake a week ago. The customer wanted a chocolate sheet cake with chocolate frosting and BLACK buttercream roses. I obliged and he was thrilled. It was for his wife. He wanted something simple but not over the top.
