Cheesecake Help!!

I couldn't get the sourcream at the local supermarket so can I substitute the sour cream with either whipping cream or plain yogurt in a cheesecake recipe?

Here is the recipe that I use:

I need a quick response...I have to make this cheesecake tonight!

you can use the yogurt.....i wouldn't use the whipping cream....i think it would make the batter too thin....good luck

I'd go with the yogart too! I see it listed as a substitute for sour cream in lots of low fat recipes. Ususally the yogart is put in cheese cloth or a coffee filter and set over a cup or bowl to drain off excess moisture first so that the consistancy is more consistant with sour cream.

I didn't get any complaints from the customer so that is a good sign.
