OMG!! im from the uk and we dont really have a big cookie culture and i had never ate iced sugar cookies before, just the oatmeal drop type so i made my first batch from the Confetti book and they are AMAZING!! the texture, taste, crunch, smell and they are so easy to cut out with a cardboard template!! im converted! unfortunately my piping skills are heinous!! i made hearts, shoes, handbag and tiered cake shapes and they are for my eyes and belly only!! they look like a child did them!!
my icing for flooding was too thick, i was lazy and didnt mix the colours in both consistencies so the outlines were a different colour (never again!!) and generally they looked awful but they tasted divine and i have an extra batch of dough in the freezer to practice on over christmas.
Im definitly a cookie convert, just have to learn how to pipe!!
Yahoooo! We have another convert!!
Get piping, girl!
Welcome to the club girl!!!!!
thanks for that link it was excellent, looking forward to having another go at the weekend....going to go and eat my yummy messy cookies now.
Cathy24, the link on how to decorate cookies is great. I decorated my first cookies last week and it helped me so much! I haven't posted any pictures yet, but I will soon.
Welcome to our world! (warning - it can definitely be addictive!) Have fun!
I'm so glad!
Cookies are wonderful, you can make them and freeze them to have whenever you want them. Plain or fancy; fruity or nutty or chocolate or spicy; crispy or chewy or soft or crumbly; drops or bars or shapes; large or small or gigantic; smooth icing or piped ruffles or dipped or sugar-sprinkled or drizzled...
Aaaaahhhh, life is good!
