What would you say was the #1 reasons for a cake to fall? I always thought it was over beating or baking too hot. Thanks.

Oh that would be the support system, or lack thereof! Leahs will be along shortly to extol the virtues of SPS.

I am thinking you are speaking of a cake falling in the pan...not a tier cake falling from lack of support.

I would think under baking would be the #1 cause. That is the only time I have ever had one fall.

Oh do you mean to fall after you take it out of the oven?? Oops..I think that's what you meant. Hmmm.....now I have never had that problem, so I would be of no service in that department.

Opening the oven door too soon to check on it maybe? Especially moving or bumping the pan before it's done.
