I need some ideas for Mother's Day cakes. The Ladies Aux at the Fire House is having a bake sale the day before Mother's day. icon_biggrin.gif

Have you thought of doing mini "Gift" cakes?

You could pre-make a buch of fontant/gumpaste "gift tags"
(basically just flat rectangles of fondant)

And bring some edible markers with you, and fill out the "tags" when someone buys one of the cakes:
"To: Mom
From: Davey"

I'll put money on it that those will sell more than any of the other items at the bake sale!

Great idea Jackie. You could also do cookie bouquets...that's if you are into doing cookies! icon_biggrin.gif

with violets and roses? Lots of mom's like those flowers and the basket would be elegant. You can even make the brown icing to look like a real basket.[/img]
