Alternative To Mmf For Covering Mini Cakes???

hi...can anyone tell me what else to cover the mini baby shower cakes with other than mmf?? I just cant get to cover the tiny cakes with mmf smoothly, ending up with tucks and tears and it is sooooo time consuming. Have to make 20 or so in next few days so plzzzz tell me what to do?thanks

I will be making some petit fours tomorrow and would love to hear what others ideas are. What about using ganache? I've never tried it but I've seen other cakes with it that looked really smooth.

I require that minis be fondant covered becasue I consider it the easiest. I dont' use MMF however, only SatinIce.

thanku everyone for ur help...ganache wont work b/c i make cakes like the ones with baby sleeping on it with a blanket. Would like to know what is satin icing?
