I just bought the Wilton soccer ball pan to use as the rounded part of a cap. Does anybody have any tips for baking? I am nervous since it is deep that the middle will not get done and the cake will be dry.

Hey I just used this pan for the first time this week. My only comment would be to cook at a low temp like 325 for a long time. It took almost 45-50 minutes to fully cook. Everything else was fine.

You could try putting a flower nail in the bottom of the pan before adding the batter. The metal helps disperse the heat to the center and you just pull it out once the cake is done. Don't know how well it will work for a rounded cake though.

I use it all the time and I have never had any trouble with my cakes not baking through. Just bake at a lower temp, 325 and you should be fine.
