Hi!

I am bringing cupcakes in for my students tomorrow. I would like to frost them tonight and just let them sit out overnight rather than have to worry about doing this tomorrow morning before going to work. (won't fit into my fridge once they are iced)

I made the basic Wilton buttercream but with a little less sugar and a little more hi-ratio shortening. Then, I substituted the milk with egg nog - yummy.

But can I leave them out overnight???

Thanks so much!

I just made buttercream dream using eggnog instead of milk. It sat out over night and was fine. Don't know what the department of health regs would be, but mine was fine. I made it Saturday, served it Sunday and had some leftovers today. It was never in the fridge.
