Im looking to make some xmas decorated cookies; its my first time...

Any tips, recipes or suggestions are welcome!

Hi! I am sure someone else will jump in here, but there is an excellent tutorial by Antonia74 here on CC called "How to Bake and Decorate Cookies". As far as I am concerned, anything she says is gold! Here is the link to her tutuorial:

As for recipes, many here on CC like the No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe as it holds its shape well. Here is a link for that:

For royal icing, I love Antonia74's Royal Icing. Her meringue powder has vanilla flavor already in it, so you can add some for flavoring if you desire. Almond works well also. Here is a link for that recipe:

A quick hint is to make sure your dough is well chilled before cutting out (after you roll it) and chill it again on the cookie sheet to help the cookies keep their shape when baking.
