I am trying to move into the world of scratch baking. Just made this cake from CC today and it turned out awesome! The texture was great but the flavor was not so bold like a boxed mix.
How can I incorporate other flavors?? Any suggestions? Thought about doubling the amount of vanilla and maybe add some butter flavoring. Maybe a dry pudding mix to it!
i also just made it today and it turned out awesome. i actually made it non dairy so i added in butter extract and that worked perfectly. i added in 1/2 t. bec i didn't want a super strong butter flavor.

I usually always double the vanilla in every recipe I make--I just love it! I have doubled the vanilla (at least) in this recipe and it tasted delicious.
I would like to try this...has anyone done a Vanilla extract AND Creme Bouquet combination...does it have to be either or?
