Ornament Cupcake

I bought the clear plastic balls that come apart so I could do a round chocolate mold for the top of a cupcake ornament. I guess you have to be smarter than what you are working with because my chocolate will not come out. I coated the inside of the shell with chocolate and popped into the freezer until the chocolate was set but it will not come out.

I know I must be doing something wrong, can someone help me?

The ornament cupcakes in the CC article are made with fondant lined molds:

Chocolate candy clay might be another option:

It may not pop out if the mould itself is still frozen. I have warmed the outside of my mould with a hairdryer - just a little or you end up melting the chocolate again. If you place it mould side up you should see the chocolate let go. (i've also used hot water, but you run the risk of getting water on the chocolate.) HTH.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try the hair dryer trick. If that doesn't work I'll go with the fondant or candy clay.
