Jo_Ann, A few months back I posted a bunch of questions of luster dust and other things. Your replies were so helpful, and it really made ordering from GSA much easier for me. So THANK YOU! And here is the cake you were giving advise on... The shower was today and the mother to be was thrilled.
The theme and the baby's room is "princess", and of course it will be a girl....
The bottom teir is Chocolate Fudge Cake, with Dreamy Chocolate Mousse Filling; the middle layer is Butter Pecan Cake with Maple Cheese Cake filling with praline pecans (i have to give someone on here credit for the idea, it was in the seasonal flavors thread).... And the top teir is Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese filling with Apple Butter. Boy all three ters were TASTY!!!!
Thanks for looking, and thanks for your help! (the baby booties and the tiara pattern came off of this website in the templates section!)
I love your cake! The blocks and bow are perfect and I really like the softness of the middle teir. Graet work!
That is a adorable cake...I have the diamond quilter and have never tried it. This is very inspiring!!
Thanks guys. i tried a lot of new things on this cake so I'm pretty proud of it! (basically everything but the fondant was new, lol...)
The quilt pattern was done with an impression mat that I got from GSA, and I didn't think it was deep enough on the fondant, so i took the rounded end of a paint brush and made the lines more defined.
I really love the booties too because I made all the little daiseys, and I'd never used a cutter before so that was new for me!
The cake is sooooo beautiful....each tier sounds yummy! You should be very proud of yourself, you did a fantastic job.
Wow, your cake is so beautiful. You are one talented lady. Congrats.
And I am so glad I could help.
Jo-Ann
