Can anyone out there tell me what pans they are using to make the christmas ornaments (balls) ??
Also, how do I lay the fondant on them so that they are neat?
I haven't done them personally but some people has said that they used the sports ball pan or the mini sports ball pan and also the cupcake pan.
I make regular muffins and then use the mini ball pan for the tops. I frost the 1/2 ball and the cover with fondant and place on top of frosted muffin. Decorate as you wish. Hope that helps.

To make completely round, I guess you could just use two of the molded cake balls and frosting/glue together.
I have an ornament in my photos that was made from the sports ball pan. It is covered in buttercream, but I did cover a golf ball in fondant using the same pan. It was very easy. What pan you use depends on what size ornament you want. I used mine for a family Christmas dinner where I wanted to feed 10-12 people.
