Is there a way I can make a plain sponge cake taste and look chocolatey?
I am going to fill it with Chocolate buttercream but the cake is obviously not chocolate coloured when cut.
I have to have this cake decorated and at the venue in 2 and a half hours aaaggghhhhhhh (luckily I have made the decorations already and was going to do final touches just before I left.
My first disaster so far .... will sooooo teach me to read the request again and again before starting.

Could I get away with saying its a White chocolate cake with chocolate filling?
I don't think I'd try to do anything. This has happened to me before and I just fessed up to the customer and they were alright with it. I gave took a small discount on the price, too. Honesty is always the best policy in business.
If the cake taste great, has the chocolate filling, and looks awesome I bet they'll be pleased anyway.
