Hi everyone

I want to create a cake with the quilted diamond pattern I have seen on many cakes on CC (esp. sugarshack wow). I had bought a set of impression mats that do not contain the diamond pattern, but a few different ones and it seems they do not imprint the pattern deep enough. I've seen other posts where CCers recommend diamond cutters or skewers to create the diamond pattern, but I'm wondering what is the easiest way to master this technique? What have you had the most success with.

Thanks to all of you, I'm learning lots! icon_smile.gif

TIA

I usually use the back of a paring knife and an angled ruler, after I make the pattern I go back and just retrace them with a Qtip, It works great!!

You can make them as large or small as you want them !!

good luck and let me know if this works out for you ! icon_smile.gif

I use a right triangle and a quilting wheel. I prefer this to an impression mat because I can make a diamond pattern of any size without having to purchase multiple mats.
