Just wondering if anyone could give me a ball park figure. I'm covering a 4 tiered, 14,12,10,8, wedding cake in marshmallow fondant. Any idea how many batches it should take. Kinda want to get all the prep done. Cakes are baked and I have 3 batches of fondant done. Tomorrow I'll start butter cream and finish fondant. Thanks....

Hi Paula,

I'm sure you'll get a response from the seasoned pros here as I've never made anything that big yet but I do know that Satin Ice has a guideline so that you can have a rough idea how much you need to order. I'm assuming it wouldn't be much different than MMF but you could always make a little extra to be on the safe side.

Here's link to their site.

I did one this summer that size and I think I did 6 batches. Had a little left over. But depends on how thick and better to be safe.

I just did a cake with 4 and 8 inch tiers and it took me one batch with about 1/4 batch left over. Hope that helps.
