I have a wedding cake coming up and the bride doesn't like regular BC cuz its too sweet. I'm planning on using SMBC or IMBC. The design of the cake has fondant leaves on the sides. Is it possible to put fondant accents on that type of frosting? If so, what is the best way?

TIA

I only use IMBC and sometimes I use fondant accents with it. It is quite simple. First thing is to put the cake in the refrigerator so that the BC will harden, then you can put your fondant accents right on the cake. I just stick it on (no water or icing or anything), and it stays right on place. The fondant piece has to be just rolled out though. If it has already started to dry out, then you can probably use a little bit of buttercream as glue to adhere it to the cake.

Hope this helps. icon_smile.gif
