when using the sps for a tier cake. what kind of board or how many cardboards do you put each tier on? i just did an 11, 8, 5 inch tiers cake and when i picked up the 11 there was lots of cracking. also is there is need to cover the cardboard?

I use 1 cardboard, uncovered, but I also use a noncrusting bc.
