I wonder if any of you ladies can help me ive had a short notice order for a tom and jerry cake and i dont really know how to go about making it. The picture that the client has sent me is in the Debbie Brown book called cartoon cakes and is of toms head with a mallet on top and jerry sitting on the top. I was excited thinking ill just go and buy the book and then give it a go- but everywhere has sold out of the book and online companies wont deliver in time!!!!!!!!

So what i am begging and pleading for is that someone has the book and would most gratefully send me the instructions on how to make this amazing cake.

My email address is if anyone can help me out i would be so so grateful. xxx

I just happen to have that book out from the library right now. I don't have a scanner, but I could photocopy it and fax it to you. Do you have a fax number? I'll send you an email on your regular account as well.

Soulla, be sure to use a nice firm cake. I tried this cake with strawberry, and it was not firm enough to hold the design. I was so frustrated with it. I am working up the courage to try again. It was really hard!

Don't fret. It really isn't that hard. I tried it and had never really done any figure modeling before and my Jerry came out fantastic. It was for my son so I kept Jerry intact.

I also have this book, but just now saw this post. Sorry. Please let us see your finished product. I would love to try one of the cakes. Did you use the madeira sponge cake recipe in the book?
