I made a cake with a waterfall that I made with piping gel. The piping gel kept sliding down the cake. Any suggestions to prevent this. I havr an order for the same cake next week. TIA
I lay down regular buttercream first, then color the gel blue (I use the glitter gel for sparkly water) and spread the gel on top of the white. Then mix it up in a few places for "whitecaps."
Is there a way anyone knows of to make the gel from scratch?
I don't know how to make piping gel from scratch...but I did find a website that tells you how!

I've heard report on (I believe) that recipe......most said it was very, very runny and does not keep well at all
Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try, but if it doesn't work, I'll have to stick to buying it! I'm trying to make everything from scratch if I can. We'll see how this one goes.
