So my dh's boss has requested a cake for his freemason meeting on Saturday. He wants a cake shaped like the masonic square and compass symbol, covered in fondant. I am fairly inexperienced when it comes to cake decorating - I've done sheet cakes, fbct's, etc. So I am looking for any kind of tips you have! What would be the easiest way to get the shape? Carve a cake? Put pieces together?

Here is the shape I'm talking about:

Thanks for the help!
