Hello! Newbie here with another question about both snowflake templates and candy melts method. I saw some cute snowflake cupcakes on the galleries that I would like to make and the creator said that she found the template here on cc. I tried doing a search like she said she did, but I had not luck. I haven't been able to find molds either. Can anybody tell me where specifically I can find this template or send me the direct link. Also, these snowflakes were made out of candy melts. What is the method for making things out of these candy melts? By this I mean: on wax paper? let them air dry? let them dry in fridge instead? if air dried, do I put them inside the fridge afterward? how far in advance should I make them, etc... I would really appreciate your assistance. Thanks!

ape74--go to the gallery and look under sketches and templates. There are two sets of snowflake patterns.

Not sure about the answer to the candy melts but I would like to know too.

I also saw these cupcakes w/ the candy melts snowflakes and that is what I have been trying to find out. So far bobwonderbuns has given directions on how to use, but mostly people are saying to use royal icing. I would rather use candy melts if possible

I've only done them with Royal, do them on plastic wrap, they stick to pretty much everything else. You can melt your candy melts in the micro and use a parchment triangle or regular piping bag with a small tip. Plug in a heating pad and keep your filled bag sitting on top of a tea towel on the heating pad to keep the melts melted. Good luck[/url]

I made these with candy melts...........the only problem is candy melts are so much softer and they spread once you pipe them out........I piped these with a number 2 tip and you can see how fat the lines are! However I made some coral on a wedding cake with candy melts with a number 1 tip and it was better but still not as thin as you could get with royal because royal has the ability to be thickened up if you need it to so that it won't spread when piping. Allow many extras for breakage too....both before making it to the cupcake and while trying to put it into the cupcake.....if I did them again I would probably attach a toothpick to each one so that I didn't break them when putting them into the cupcakes.
by the way I didn't use a template (obviously) they were just freehand.

Ihave a few templates for snowflakes that I use. You are welcome to use them yourself.
