Hi All!
I am using Satin Ice Fondant and I need to know how long do I have to wait after dying the fondant in order to use it to cover a cake? I dyed it lemon yellow (pale shade) and I need to cover a 10" and 8" square. I colored 5 lbs. and although I have another 7 lbs. I am skeptical about dying all of it because I don't want to waste the fondant since it is kind of pricey. I was wondering if I could use this amount tomorrow when I cover the cakes and if I need more, would I be able to dye and use it immediately?

The only problem with waiting is that you might not get the color the same, as colors change with time. Always best to dye the entire amount that you will need at once then use it right away. The SatinIce site has a chart that tells you how much to use, although I usually need a little bit more than they say.
