I need an idea on how to make a groom's cake that looks like gift boxes without it looking feminine, no big bow etc. The groom's birthday is also the day of his wedding.

How about doing the box like in camoflage with maybe a tool or a belt coming out of the box? HTH icon_biggrin.gif

Or, for that matter, looking like any other hobby or sport or other interest he may be into.

The bride's family could not think of any hobbies or interests for the groom, which is why they thought of gift boxes for his birthday.
Thanks for the suggestions though.

Here was a cake I did for a brides new husband's birthday. It was covered in ganache (not my strong suit) and chocolate clay bow. i thought it wasn't too feminine.

Thanks Jill. That is kind of what I was thinking, gift boxes with a flat bow.
