If I use contact paper/shelf & drawer liners (the kind for your kitchen drawers and shelves) to cover my cake board, will that be okay? I'll have the actual cake on a separte cake board sized to fit exactly and that will sit on my contact covered cake board. Will that be okay or do I need to cover the contact paper with something clear? If so, where would I buy it?

You should be fine.

Thanks. I'll wash it off with some hot soapy water first...just to get any residue off. Thanks again for answering so quickly.
