I am making some more spaghetti cupcakes for the school festival and they domed really high so I was thinking of cutting the tops off for a nice level surface. Is this okay or will they go stale faster? I usually like the domes but it takes so much icing to do the spaghetti I figured less is more. Thanks, Brandy

Your spaghetti cupcakes are really cute... I'm not a fan of cutting off the tops but can understand your dilemma. I'd say, if you cut, then take the step of brushing them with a simple syrup. That should take care of any potential dryness issues.

I have sometimes cut off the tops to level my cupcake surface, depending on the design I'm going for. I haven't had any trouble with them going stale faster.
