I have been seeing all of these great pics of severed finger cookies. I wanted to make some to bring to a party later tonight and I wrongly assumed I could use the tube of sugar cookie dough. They spread out too much. Anyone have any shortbread recipes or know what people are using to make these fingers? Thanks.

I know it's late, but I'm responding anyway. Try the No Fail Sugar Cookie (NFSC) recipe. The key is to make it and refrigerate it, remove a little at a time to shape your cookies. Stick them back in the freezer for about five minutes then pop them in the oven. The key is to always keep the dough cold enough to remain quite rigid so that it holds its shape.

If you stil have time to make them, I wish you luck. Don't forget to post pics!
