I thought I had asked this question, but I must have messed it up.

What is the best way to get red Gumpaste? I need to make red roses for a wedding cake. Red seems to be a problem for me.

Thanks for your help.

I made a darker red rose a few weeks ago. I took red fondant and mixed in white gumpaste and then I added more red color and a touch of black. Then I dusted them with claret luster dust.

I used Marcela Sanchez's red flowerpaste that I bought from GSA. They came out beautiful as was wonderful to work with. I then dusted them with rouge flambe luster dust (dry). The flowerpaste actually darkens as it dries. The dust made them a beautiful dark red.

Try www.sugarpaste.com and download their pdf catalog. Their red gumpaste is excellent!
