OkayI am attempting to make the skirt pleating around the bottom layer of a wedding cake this weekend. With everything else I have to make Saturday, can the pleating be done Friday?

If I do it Friday, can I put it in the fridge. The only fondant covered cakes I have done was the deer head, which I put in an did fine, but I don't wanna chance it.

Thanks so much!!

I can't help with the pleating because I've never attempted that. I put my first fondant covered cake in the fridge and it did great. I had actually painted the entire cake with paste color and it was bright red (bleeding heart). When I took it out of the fridge, I just let it come to room tempurature without touching it and it didn't run at all. It was a great relief.

The fondant won't be colored, so maybe..hopefully...it will work.
