I'm thinking about getting an airbrush machine--but I would want it for the purpose of spraying color onto white gum paste and fondant decorations. I sometimes sell my decorations and so I am curious how airbrush does with gum paste.

My main question is, once dry, can you pick up an airbrushed gum paste decoration without worry that the color will smudge or wipe off, leave prints, etc.

I would think that contact with any dampness may also smear color or cause bleeding. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks for any info!

I've had it come off occasionally, but it usually does dry and stay put. If you put A LOT of color onto something it might rub off on your fingers when you handle it, but usually it isn't an issue.

I have handed flowers within minutes of airbrushing them with no smudging.
