I am looking for a frosting with buttercream consistency for a Pina Colada cake. Anyone have a receipe that I can try or suggestions for flavor mixing ideas to combine with buttercream? If I find the right combination I may have a wholesale customer. Help! icon_wink.gif

When I make my Strawberry buttercream, I just make a regular buttercream, and instead of milk or water I add in Strawberry Margarita mix. Super yummy. What about doing the same with Pina colada?

Here is one i used on a Pina Colada cake...

Make some Buttercream and then add...
3/4 tablespoon coconut flavoring
3/4 tablespoon rum flavoring
1/4 tablespoon pineapple flavoring
8 ounces crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 cup sweetened coconut

Just fold in ingredients...i got rave reviews for this frosting!

YUM! YUM! Both of these sound sooooo good! I will definitely try them. mommyle, how much of the flavoring do you add to about a 2lb (powdered sugar) batch of buttercream? Thank you for such quick help.

Well, it's probably about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup, but it really depends on how thin you want your icing. I just make it the same as I make regular buttercream. The mix is the kind that you buy in the bottle. It's the syrup that you make Pina coladas or margaritas with. HTH
