Hello All!

I was asked to do an Oriental themed birthday cake for a pastor's wife that needs to feed 80 - 100 people. They are using the colors red and black for decorations and such which are fine. However, she has requested a chocolate iced cake. With the cake being iced in chocolate, it has thrown my ideas out of whack! Please help! Thanks.

If you frost and then add chocolate fondant.....you could still do the red flowers with green stems. Put in the word oriental in the search box and you will see all the cool "flat" oriental themed cakes.

Or you could build a red and gold Pagoda on top of the chocolate cake.

Good luck.

You can do a search in the galler for Asian or cherry blossom and you will come up with many great ideas.

I think it would be very pretty to do cherry blossoms up the side of the cake with a plaque on top in Kanji -Japanese writing. You can google any saying you want to put on the plaque.
