Is it okay to flavor RI? LIke with extract? If not why? Also, anyone ever mix RI and BC?
Thanks, I am a newbie with cookies and icing and decorating, but I love it.

I imagine it would be ok to flavor your RI. Any liquid you add would affect the consistency of it, though. And if you use oils it would interfere with the structure, I think. I think I'd use small amounts of extracts and add more PS if too runny.

I use both oils and extracts to flavour RI.

You only need like maybe 3 drops of oil so it doesn't really effect an entire batch of RI and even at that 2 drops might even be enough depending on which flavours you are using.

You can also use lemon, lime or orange juice too and cocoa powder.

banba, can I add to that, marciano cherry juice works well in RI and RBC, and TG. Just don't forget...like I did once... I put some strawberry into a batch, then realized I didn't want everything pink! icon_smile.gif
