Crisis - please help! Trying to make a dark brown icing, but my friend wants vanilla buttercream and not chocolate??? Any ideas? It seems like I've added quite a bit of brown colour with a touch of black, but still a taupe-y kind of colour. THanks!
Add more dark brown color, and give it time to develop, especially if you're using Wilton color.

You can smear a little bit on the counter or a plate to let it set quickly to see if it turns to the right color.
