I am making a 3D dump truck this weekend and have a question about the support I should use for the front part of the truck (where the windshield is) should I put this part of the cake on it's own board and dowel it? Then put fondant over the whole thing. Also, is this going to need a big dowel down the middle to keep it in place? Sorry, I'm new to 3D cakes and have never attempted to carve anything or cover anything in fondant and i'm really nervous. I would just hate that front part of the cake to fall off when traveling with it. I'm following the directions in the Wilton Celebrate with Fondant book but it doesn't mention anything about dowels or how to keep the front part in place.

Thanks for any help!!!
