I don't care much for the Magic Line Butter flavoring. It has a very sweet smell and I taste an after taste when I use it.

I have only tried the Wilton variety, and to me it smells like theater popcorn. Ewww... Not too crazy about it, at all!

I just tried Lorann's Butter Emulsion and it smells fantastic, but it has a little beige color but didn't seem to effect the color of my icing.

I like butter. Yum. If I'm looking to get a true WHITE in my butter icing, then I add some bright-white. Doesn't change the taste at all. icon_biggrin.gif

I like toast with butter, too. icon_wink.gif But buttercream made with real butter is the best!

LOL...great answer, chutzpah

Actually though, I found a recipe here for Creme Bouquet and it calls for 1 tsp. of butter flavoring.

I have that and didn't like the smell, but I had to use it and it was sooooo good. I recently smelled it again and it was fine, I think the first time I didn't like it was because I was pregnant and everything smells different icon_lol.gif
