I have been going through some old posts researching caramel apples dipped in chocolate. I made some this week end and they turned out great but my chocolate wasn't great. I was wondering what everyone uses for their chocolate layer?? I saw someone said how the "stretch" their chocolate by adding some extra ingredients and I can't find that thread to save my soul.. so I thought I would put it out there to see if anyone has any great ideas!!!!

I made some last week with just regular candy coating (the kind for dipping pretzels/almond bark that they sell at Target). I added a little bit of Crisco to the melted chocolate so it would set up a bit softer, and then piped on my decorations using a Wilton Plastic Bottle.
