I swore there use to be a high heel template in the template forum. Was I dreaming? I was depending on it for an order. Anyone have one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It was in the articles and here is the link to it. I have to admit it was very simple to make and very impressive!

How long in advance can the shoe be made and how long does it stay "fresh"looking? Anyone know? I can't find anything here on the Site if this was discussed (which, I'm sure it was, just can't find it!)

GI, I made mine more than a week ago approximately. I mixed fixodent with the pink MMF to make it harden. I have brushed it with white pearl luster dust and it is like a rock right now. I think it will last as long as the little girl I made it for wants to keep it. There is nothing to mildew or mold because it is totally dry. I had read a long time ago that gum paste flowers will keep forever so I am assuming as long as the shoe is dry and kept dry it will last. If anyone knows more please reply. I would like to know too.

Thanks AlamoSweets! I had wondered if the gumpaste shoe would tend to look "old" or cracked, etc., after several weeks. Or if the Lusterdust tended to fade out, etc.

Gee, never heard of fixodent. What is that? I have this picture of the stuff people use for their dentures to keep their teeth in! icon_lol.gif

GI, that's exactly what fixodent is!

Fixodent...isn't that used to clean dentures? LOL

That's right! There is a thread that discusses it. It doesn't take much and it make fondant harden fast! It is edible too I guess since it is used in the mouth! Adds that minty taste!!!!!

I'm going to have to give fixodent a try. How much do you mix in with the Gum Paste?

I don't mix it with Gum Paste because it gets hard on it's own. I mix it with MMF so that it gets hard like gum paste. It really depends on the amount of MMF you are mixing it with. A pretty good squeeze or two is good for a whole batch. It is something you guess. I keep a tube of it at all times. It really comes in handy when you don't want to purchase gum paste or make some and you only need a little bit.
