Hey ladies and gents, I need to make a 10" record cake using black fondant. I've been in the galleries and saw lots of neat record cakes so I want to know the best way to make this cake look great. I'll be making a dummy this weekend to try out suggestions.

You need to score the groves into the fondant. Do you have a cake comb? I would put the fondant on a turntable and pressing a comb into it turn the turntable around. Don't press too hardicon_smile.gif
Once you have the 'record' made simply place it on top of the cake.
Make the 'lable' seperate (make it thin so it doesn't sit high on top of the 'record'. Don't forget to make the center hole in the lable part. HTH

To add to kakeladi, if you don't have a cake comb you can use and everyday fork. That is what I used on my record cake and it worked pretty well.
