I am making a three tier birthday cake for a young lady turnig 100. The tiers will be 14,12,10. Ten inches seems kind of big for a top tier, my question is...as long as it is decorated in scale then is it too big, will it look funny? I am putting the numbers 100 quite large standing on the top so I think it will be fine. I guess I am just second guessing myself. Help?

As long as you decorate with more of a sheet cake approach (lots of decor spread out) as opposed to a tiered cake (a single topper) it should look fine.

Think of it as a sheet cake on a pedestal!
