I have my first wedding cake due in 2 1/2 weeks. It is to be decorated in fall leaves. I started working with candy clay this morning and I like the texture and pliability (if thats even a word). Will it dry as hard as fondant? Does it tend to melt easier? Any tips? Thanks!

Hi!
By candy clay - i pressume it is the same as our chocolate paste?? made with chocolate and glucose - somtimes fondant is added to make it more pliable???

If so, then if the fondant is added to the chocolate paste, then yes it does dry hardish, but if in the sun it will droop/ go soft,- it shouldnt melt though - but will bend out of shape, if it does bend out of shape, then you can re shape it though!!

I hope this helps?

It dries but not hard as a rock. It's still pliable but with hold it's shape unless it gets too warm.
