i planned on piping some RI scrolls and then attaching them to the cake, is this possible? will the RI hold up ontop of the buttercream? i also wanted to use lusterdust for the scrolls but im afraid that if i use the alcohol on the RI it will deff. just melt away. any solutions are welcomed. thank you.

The RI scrolls should be fine to attach to buttercream.

Make sure they have dried thoroughly before trying to paint them with luster dust. Allow them to dry again, then place them carefully on your cake. You could use small dabs of buttercream to attach them to the cake.

I've pipe royal icing designs directly on the buttercream frosted cake with no problem. I then used luster dust mixed with lemon oil or Vodka and painted that on the royal, again no problem.

Good luck!
