I am new to decorating dummy cakes. I see a few mentions of fake buttercream How do you make that and is it easy to work with? Thanks so much!

If you are icing the dummy just for photos, a shortening based buttercream will be nice and white and handle easily for decorations.

If you want a more permanent disply cake, there is a product called perma-ice that dries hard. Some people have used a plaster product than can be colored or painted-they don't all dry white.
