Has anyone used the McCormick food coloring for coloring fondant? I need red and thought about mixing it in when I make my fondant. Most other reds tend to cause the fondant to crumble and fall apart. I thought this might be an alternative and easier.

It isn't as strong as cake coloring, but it would certainly work. If your fondant is too dry, it is generally because you have added too much powdered sugar. with liquid color, you may have to adjust for the extra liquid so the fondant is smooth and not sticky.

i always use airbrush for a vibrant red. If you dont have one, Wilton makes spray color in red. You will have to use a million coats but it works, lol. icon_biggrin.gif I used it on my shoebox cake in my photos before i got an airbrush machine.
